The Northcoast Circle demo aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page says what we checked and where we know it falls short.
What we built in
- Every screen has one main heading, a skip link and a labelled bottom navigation that marks the current page.
- Light and dark themes were each designed on their own and checked for 4.5:1 text contrast (3:1 for large text and interface parts).
- Tap targets are at least 44 pixels. Keyboard focus is always visible.
- Form fields have visible labels, check themselves when you leave them, and put the error next to the field.
- Seat booking, posting, voting and code reveals are announced to screen readers through polite live regions.
- Sheets and dialogs hold focus, close with the Escape key and return focus to where you were.
- Animation is small and stops entirely when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Text resizes with your device settings, and nothing scrolls sideways.
How it was checked
Automated page checks, manual keyboard-only runs through every screen, and visual checks at 360, 390, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels wide in both themes. We have not yet tested with a full range of screen readers on real phones.
Known gaps
- The QR codes are visual. Each ticket also shows its code in text so a host can type it in.
- The directory and offers lists are long. Search, filters and headings help, but we have not added a jump list.
- The phone-shaped frame on large screens keeps its own scroll area. On a phone or tablet the page scrolls normally.

If something does not work for you, write to circle@example.co.za or call 031 000 0142. We reply within two working days. This is a demonstration by Kirosconsult; for a real app we would test with your members.
